The Bomb Shelter (2015)

This short documentary came about in several ways. I had kinda stepped away from narrative films at this time, and felt like making a documentary. This was the subject that was just staring me in the face.  I figured since people liked Trying It At Home, my first DIY documentary so much, I’d try it again, but a little shorter. I’d been wanting to start making more short documentaries like to do short films. Just cute, concise, 3-6 minute documentaries on various things that interest me.

This was also a surprise documentary. I interviewed Danielle for it, and told her it was for something else, not an entire documentary about her house. After weeks of paranoia, Henry and I convinced ourselves that she knew, so about 2 hours before the screening we went and filmed this RED HERRING documentary to throw her off during the show!
